![]() ![]() “I can scarcely believe that Skojec chose to make those comments,” my friend wrote. Not having read what’s coming in the future installment(s), I have to say that I suspect I’ll be willing to lend my own voice to it. It’s good, I think, to have such a thing on the record. Skojec’s insults were delivered in the comment box immediately after having previously said of their piece: This he offered in reference to the Remnant / CFN recently joint-published three part series: With Burning Concern: We Accuse Pope Francis. “It’s time for us to drop the snark and the sharp elbows and actually gather people in from this storm.” ![]() ![]() “It’s unfortunate that trads can always be counted on to warm up the circular firing squad,” he wrote. But along the way, a superiority complex arises in many Trads, and it becomes evident to some of them after a bit of time that their faith life is devoid of charity, and centers around fruitlessly trying to restore a bygone expression of the Catholic faith. This morning, a friend called my attention to a post over at One Peter Five wherein Steve Skojec took the opportunity to denigrate the Remnant and Catholic Family News for what he condescendingly called “excessive snark and polemics.” So it's inevitable that many people develop an "us vs. Also, the Church suppress Trads disproportionately in comparison to much more important matters. If parishes weren't so inconsistent and such a mess, and the liturgy typically so bland, there wouldn't be such a desire to leave. Retweeting someone criticizing Catholics who invalidate other Catholics' struggle to keep their faith. He's tweeted some interesting stuff lately pursuant to this that members of this sub might want to read. As crazy as he is, I think he's a lot more intellectually honest than anyone else at One Peter Five, and even as someone who's diametrically at odds with him on almost everything, I've got to give him credit for how honest and upfront he's been about his struggles with Catholic belief, and how they've intensified over the last several years. I've mentioned before a few times in this sub and elsewhere that I think Steve Skojec is in the process of slowly shifting out of traditionalism, and possibly out of belief in Christianity entirely. ![]()
